He aha te mea nui o te ao?
He tāngata, he tāngata, he tāngata
What is the most important thing in the world?
It is people, it is people, it is people.
People with challenges sometimes need the help of professionals in the health and social sector. But no matter who we are, all of us need connection with real people who genuinely care. At Gateway, we believe the most under-rated and under-utilised resource in moving people towards wellbeing is caring community members with a heart to help and some time to spare.
We would love to connect you with Gateway’s service users. This can involve anything from supporting people in their exercise plans (e.g. going for a walk), to teaching specific skills (e.g. cooking, woodwork), to getting service users positively plugged into your hobby /interest /cultural group.
If you have some ‘volunteer’ ideas of your own, or would like to know more about volunteer opportunities at Gateway, then please contact us.
