YOUTH WORKER – West Coast

· Full time – permanent

· Flexible hours

· Based in Greymouth

This is a community-based role supporting young people who are at-risk. As a youth worker, your job is all about connecting with the young person and helping them to achieve their goals and aspirations. You will be part of a caring and supportive team of professionals.

We encourage you to apply for this role if you:

· Have a passion for and natural ability in connecting with young people, and have a good understanding of current youth issues and influences

· Work well in a team and independently

· Are a good listener and communicator

· Have a positive outlook and sense of humour

· Are available to work evenings and weekends as required

· Show resilience and the ability to overcome any challenge that comes your way

· Are honest and trustworthy and have a willingness to learn

· A basic level of fitness

· Have the ability to satisfactorily pass a police check

· Have a clean full driver licence

· Have legal entitlement to work in New Zealand

Whilst relevant experience and qualifications would be helpful, we would encourage any person with the above attributes to apply. Training will be provided.

PART TIME YOUTH WORKER – West Coast

Gateway’s Snapshot Service is expanding on the West Coast. Snapshot provides community support for at-risk youth. As a youth worker, your job is all about connecting with the young person and helping them to achieve their goals and aspirations. This role is fixed term (until June 30 2018) and is part-time (8-16 hours a week, plus opportunity for additional hours as required and agreed). The successful candidate would join the Snapshot West Coast team – a professional and caring team who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young Coasters.
